“Your Exclusive – Telugu Television and Radio programme of Music and Melody” 

     Telugu Bharathi is the first and only Telugu television and radio programme in Canada.  Telugu Bharathi started its first radio broadcast on FM 101.3 on September 18, 2004, with a half an hour programme, and within three months, from January 1, 2005 has been producing a one hour programme every Saturday from 8.30 AM to 9.30 AM.  Telugu Bharathi also produces a half an hour television show every Saturday on Vision TV channel 60 from 5.00 PM to 5.30 PM which is broadcast all over Canada.

     Over the past four plus years, Telugu Bharathi has become a household name in the over 10,000 Telugu people living in the Greater Toronto Area, and listeners start their weekend by  participating live in our radio programme and have their evening cup of tea on Saturday watching Telugu Bharathi television.

     Telugu Bharathi mainly promotes telugu culture amongst the Telugu community, and has encouraged talent amongst the children in the community  by conducting various competitions on the radio.  The radio and also the television programme has various sections in which discourses on religious issues, recipies and news segments are broadcast.  Telugu Bharathi was also instrumental in starting Telugu classes for children upto Grade 8 organized by Toronto District School Board.

     In its television programme, Telugu Bharathi under the title “Pratibha”, brings to limelight the hidden talent of some extra-ordinary members of the community, organizes interviews with visiting celebrities from Tollywood, prominent financial advisors, real-estate brokers etc., and many other professionals in various fields, and a lot of other musical and fun filled entertainment from Tollywood.

Surya Vijay Kumar Sastry Kotamarti

     The producer of Telugu Bharathi is Mr. Surya Vijay Kumar Sastry Kotamarti, a Certified General Accountant with over 25 years of experience in financial and general management, and is the proprietor of Vijay Sastry Kotamarti, Certified General Accountant, and Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Associate Member American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Fellow Member Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and his interests are singing and light music.

Padma Sastry Kotamarti

      Mrs. Padma Sastry Kotamarti, who has been trained as news reader for Doordarshan Hyderabad, is the co-producer and host of Telugu Bharathi radio programme as well as Telugu Bharathi television.  She loves music, and works as a tax administrator with ADP Canada.
